Capturing the beauty of nature is my passion
Cliff Swallow (Petrochelidon pyrrhonota)
Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is located just south of the Texas/Oklahoma borderline. It is a haven for a myriad of wildlife.
The wildlife drive in Hagerman has two bridges that cross streams of water. In the late Spring, both bridges are used as nesting sites for the local Cliff Swallows.
On one particular bridge, fisherman frequent the river banks. Because of this, the nesting Cliff Swallows are quite used to humans in close proximity of their nests. I set up my camera and tripod along the bank and within a few seconds the Cliff Swallows were swarming back to their nests to bring food to their mates. It was an incredible sight and I am honored to have witnessed this incredible interaction.
